Natasha Swan Ceramics Featured in Belfast Telegraph Sunday Life

Natasha Swan Ceramics has been featured in the Belfast Telegraph’s Sunday Life! 🥹

The feature appeared in the 23 August 2026 edition of Sunday Life, with journalist Jade Beecroft visiting my studio in Whitehead to find out a little more about what goes on behind the scenes at Natasha Swan Ceramics.

And seeing my face on the front of the More2Life section with the headline “KILN IT SOFTLY” was a pretty surreal moment!

From the studio to the Sunday papers

For me, pottery has always been about much more than simply making something to put on a shelf.

It’s the messy hands, the hours at the wheel, the excitement (and occasional nervousness!) of opening a kiln, the endless experimenting with glazes and shapes — and, of course, the inevitable covering of myself in clay.

That’s exactly what Jade got to experience when she came along to the studio.

The feature takes readers behind the scenes of my pottery business and what it’s really like running a small ceramics studio in Whitehead, Northern Ireland.

There’s something quite special about seeing my little studio and the things I make featured in a newspaper that so many people across Northern Ireland will pick up on a Sunday morning.

“One of my most popular products is my salt pig”

One of the things I particularly loved seeing included in the article was my pig-shaped salt pig — one of my most popular products and a design that has become a real favourite with customers.

It’s always funny to see something that starts as an idea in my sketchbook become a recognisable part of the business.

From the first little lump of clay to something sitting in kitchens all over the country… and now appearing in the Belfast Telegraph. 🐷

A little milestone for a small business

When I started making pottery, I certainly never imagined that one day I’d be opening a newspaper and seeing myself — and my work — spread across two pages.

What makes this particularly special is knowing how much has happened behind the scenes to get here.

From starting out in my home studio, to opening my shop in Whitehead, developing new collections, working with other Northern Irish businesses and building Natasha Swan Ceramics into the little business it is today — it has been quite a journey.

And after taking some time away for maternity leave, coming back to work and then seeing this feature feels like a particularly lovely way to mark the next chapter.

I’m incredibly proud of how far this little pottery business has come. 🤎

THANK YOU

A huge thank you to Jade Beecroft for taking the time to visit the studio and tell my story, and to Sunday Life for featuring Natasha Swan Ceramics.

And, as always, thank you to every single person who has bought a mug, ordered a custom piece, visited the shop, shared a post, recommended me to a friend or simply followed along.

Every little bit of support has helped get me here.
